Background & Approach
Andrea Torretta brings together formal musical training and sound engineering. Beginning his classical guitar and music theory studies at age eight, he developed trained relative pitch and score-reading capabilities that directly inform his workflow in the control room.
Understanding arrangement, harmonic context and acoustics allows him to treat engineering as an extension of the music itself. Every technical decision—from microphone selection and gain staging to EQ, dynamic balance and spatial depth—is focused entirely on supporting the artist's original vision.
Studio & Live Experience
With over fifteen years behind the console, on stage and on the road across Europe, Andrea's background spans:
- Recording & Mixing: Resident sound engineer at Studio Maia from 2014 to 2021, along with extensive work at Tabasco Recording Studio, handling tracking, analog/digital mixing and production.
- Touring Engineer: Live sound engineer for tours across Italy, Germany, France and the Netherlands.
- Musician & Performer: Lead guitarist for Italian indie rock band Meganoidi from 2014 to 2022, performing on national television (Rai 1) and major festival stages including Primo Maggio Taranto and Cornetto Freemusic Festival.
- Industry Endorsements: Official artist and endorser for Gibson Guitars, Mesa Boogie, Dophix FX and Dogal Strings.

Today, Andrea works from his boutique production studio in Genoa, providing music production, mixing and mastering for independent artists, bands and international labels.
Alongside active record production, he conducts audio engineering masterclasses and develops educational publications for engineers and producers.
